Careers in Structural Engineering:
The following internships are available, on a part-time basis, for the right candidate. To demonstrate previous experience, presentation of a portfolio of past work is encouraged. Characteristics of successful candidates generally include being attentive to detail, creative, self-motivated, resourceful, flexible, able to learn from mistakes, able to communicate consistently and often, able to ask questions proactively, and able to take direction from company leadership.
Business Development Interns assist in marketing, sales, and general business development. Specific tasks may include developing/updating brochures, business cards, website, online presence, etc. and upon request attending meetings/assisting with job site visits or other duties as assigned. The ideal candidate would have both technical aptitude, such as knowing basic graphic design fundamentals, and social skills to create and nurture relationships. Candidates are required to have a high school diploma plus two or more years of college toward a related program.
Structural Drafting Interns assist in drawing development. Specific tasks may include manual and/or computer structural drafting as well as supporting activities such as attending meetings/job-site visits when requested or other duties as assigned. Candidates should have basic knowledge of layout, typography, line composition, color, and other graphic design fundamentals as well as experience with relevant computer programs, such as AutoCAD. Candidates are required to have a high school diploma plus two or more years of college toward a related program.
Structural Calculation Interns assist in calculation development. Specific tasks may include structural calculations and coordinating with drafting personnel, as well as supporting activities such as attending meetings/job-site visits when requested or other duties as assigned. Candidates should have experience with relevant computer programs and basic knowledge of structural drafting. Candidates are required to be an Engineer-In-Training (EIT).
